    For lovers of the hapless M. Hulot, we are showing 'Mon Oncle' directed by Jacques Tati.   This film is Jacques Tati's satire of the socially awkward and accident-prone M. Hulot and his struggle with postwar France's infatuation with modern architecture, mechanical efficiency, and the consumerist society.

    Wednesday, February 26  at  7.30pm  in The Old Court Room    Members £10,  Guests £12 This talk by Richard Whincop looks at the innovations of Manet and the Impressionists as they abandoned time-honoured practices, working 'en plein air' and emulating photography as they developed a new approach to painting both the landscape and the nude.
